Build a company website with AI and put it online
You can ask Claude, Codex, or Cursor to write a small company website as HTML files, then put that folder online with Vinssi Pages. Pages gives you a link. It does not need a paid plan.
Ask for a simple site
Ask the helper to write the pages as HTML. A company site in this guide means files you can open in a browser: a home page, a short description, and a way to contact you that is written on the page.
You can start the helper with the same prompt as the homepage:
Deploy my app with Vinssi. Instructions: vinssi.ai/get-started.mdWhat to publish
A single .html file becomes the site index page. A folder is published as it is. Put index.html at the root of the folder. Dotfiles and symbolic links are skipped.
If you have nothing written yet, the get-started guide says to write one HTML file, such as hello.html, and publish that file. For a company site, ask the helper to replace that example with your own pages before publishing.
Sign in and publish
Run vinssi login if the command is installed. If it is not, run npx -y vinssi login. The command line tool needs Node 20 or newer. Login opens the dashboard. A workspace is created the first time you sign in.
vinssi pages publish /absolute/path/to/folder --jsonUse the real path to your file or folder. --namesets the display name and the start of the URL. If you omit it, the name comes from the file. Addresses look like https://<name>-<random>-<workspace>.pages.vinssi.ai.
Check the URL and expect 200. A site that was just published can return 404 for about ten seconds. One retry after a short wait is enough.
Price and the Pages guide
Prices for an app start at €5 a month per app, excluding VAT. Pages itself does not need a plan. Read the Pages guide before you publish. These steps were not run against a signed-in Vinssi account for this guide.
Common questions
- Can the site have more than one page?
- Yes. Publish a folder. The folder should have index.html at its root. Relative paths to other files in the folder work.
- Who can open the link?
- Anyone you share the link with can open the site.
- How do I update the same link?
- Publish again with --site and the site id from the first publish. Visitors see either the old version or the new one.
