Put your hackathon project online in minutes

Build the project with an AI helper, publish it with Vinssi Pages, and send the judges the link. Pages publishes a static file or folder. It does not need a plan.

Ask the helper to publish

An AI helper such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor can follow a short prompt. Copy this:

Deploy my app with Vinssi. Instructions: vinssi.ai/get-started.md

The guide at that address publishes a static file or folder with Vinssi Pages. A static site is files the browser opens as they are, such as an HTML page. Pages does not need a plan. The app runs in Europe. Billing for an app deployed from GitHub is per app, from €5 a month, excluding VAT.

Sign in and publish

The command line tool needs Node 20 or newer. Node is the program that runs the tool. npx runs it for this one command, without a separate install. Sign in with:

npx vinssi login

Login opens the dashboard in the browser. A workspace is created the first time you sign in. You choose Allow. If no browser opens, paste the printed URL into one. The request expires after five minutes.

Publish the file the helper wrote:

npx vinssi pages publish /absolute/path/to/file.html --json

A single .html file becomes the index page. A folder should have index.html at its root. The --json flag prints the site id, version id, URL, size, and file count. The same commands are documented as vinssi after you install the command. The command line guide shows npx vinssi for a run without installing.

Share the link with the judges

Check the URL before you send it:

curl -s -o /dev/null -w "%{http_code}" <url>

The result should be 200. A site that was just published can return 404 for about ten seconds. One retry after a short wait is enough. The address looks like https://<name>-<random>-<workspace>.pages.vinssi.ai. Anyone you share the link with can open the site.

To publish a new version at the same URL, add --site and the site id from the first publish. If the project is a Next.js app on GitHub instead of a static page, use the quickstart. That path needs a plan, and a first deployment typically takes two to five minutes.

These steps come from the get started guide and the Pages guide. They were not run against a signed-in Vinssi account for this guide.
