Hosting in Europe and GDPR: where your app and data live

Your app runs in Europe. GDPR is the European Union rule set for personal data, information that can identify a person. This page states only what Vinssi's pricing page and terms say about place, terms, and a data processing agreement. It does not describe a certification.

The app runs in Europe

Vinssi puts your app or website on the internet in Europe. The pricing page says the same thing: your app runs in Europe. Billing is per app, from €5 a month, excluding VAT.

Visitors reach the app through its Vinssi web address, or through a hostname you have verified. A hostname is a name such as www.example.com. After you verify it, Vinssi requests a TLS certificate, which is what puts the lock on that address. The connection to a managed Postgres database requires TLS as well. Postgres is the database Vinssi can add for an app.

What the terms say about personal data

The terms of service say you control what your applications collect. You must give appropriate notices to their users. Personal data hosted on your behalf requires appropriate data-processing terms. Contact Vinssi to arrange those terms before using Vinssi for that processing.

The terms of service are not a data processing agreement. A data processing agreement is the separate contract that sets how personal data is handled. The pricing page says you can request one at cloud@vertics.co. The Vertics privacy statement covers its stated scope of corporate website and contact processing. It does not replace terms for data in your hosted app.

You keep your rights in your code and content. The permission you give Vinssi to build and serve that content does not transfer ownership of it.

For a small company or a public supplier

Read the terms, then ask Vinssi to arrange data-processing terms before the app holds personal data. The terms also say to confirm data-processing arrangements for your own requirements. This page does not add a promise beyond those sentences.

Your app can reach the public internet. It cannot reach other customers' apps or Vinssi's internal services. Inbound traffic arrives only through the platform address and verified hostnames, on port 3000. Those network rules are in plans and limits.

Common questions

Is this a GDPR certification?
No. This page does not describe a certification. Personal data needs data-processing terms arranged with Vinssi before you use Vinssi for that processing.
Can I request a data processing agreement?
Yes. The pricing page says to request one at cloud@vertics.co. The terms of service are not themselves a data processing agreement.
Who is responsible for what the app collects?
You are. The terms say you control what your applications collect and must provide appropriate notices to their users.
