Hosting client projects for agencies and freelancers
An agency or a freelancer can host one app per client. Each app has its own monthly price and its own web address. You share that address with the client.
One app per client
Sign in at the dashboard. A workspace, the home for your apps, is created on first login. Choose New app, name it for that client, and connect one GitHub repository. A repository is the folder where that client's code is stored. One repository connects to one app.
Repeat that for the next client. Each app has its own plan, its own settings, and its own address. The quickstart is the documented path from a repository to a live URL.
Billed per app
Billing is per app. Prices exclude VAT. Tiny is €5 a month, App is €9 a month, and Pro App is €15 a month. You choose the plan on that app's Billing page. New workspaces receive €9 of credit, applied to invoices before the card is charged.
Plans for the apps, and a database add-on if you add one, are billed through one workspace subscription. A database is a separate charge from €5 a month for Postgres Lite. The pricing page and plans and limits list the prices.
Each client on its own web address
Each app gets a platform address, the web address Vinssi assigns. It looks like https://<project-slug>-<4 random characters>.app.vinssi.ai. The extra characters keep addresses distinct across workspaces.
You can also serve that app from the client's own hostname, such as www.example.com. Open Settings, then Domains, and add the hostname in Your own web address. Create the TXT record Vinssi shows, which proves you control the name, and a CNAME record, which points the name at Vinssi. Choose Verify. TLS, the lock in the browser, is issued once the name is verified. The steps are in the custom domains guide.
Hand over the link
When the status is Live, open the address and send it to the client. If you attached their hostname, send that too. You keep the rights in the code and content you uploaded. Hosting does not move ownership of that content to Vinssi.
A client site that is only HTML can use Vinssi Pages instead. Copy this prompt for an AI helper:
Deploy my app with Vinssi. Instructions: vinssi.ai/get-started.mdPages publishes a static file or folder and returns a URL. It does not need a plan. That address looks like https://<name>-<random>-<workspace>.pages.vinssi.ai. These steps come from the Vinssi docs. They were not run against a signed-in Vinssi account for this guide.
Common questions
- How is each client billed?
- Billing is per app, excluding VAT. Tiny is €5 a month, App is €9 a month, and Pro App is €15 a month. Plans are billed through one workspace subscription.
- Does each client get a web address?
- Yes. Each app gets an address on app.vinssi.ai. You can also point the client's own hostname at that app after the first deploy is live.
- What do I give the client?
- Give them the live link. If you added their hostname, give them that address too. The documented handover is the link.
- Can a simple HTML site skip a plan?
- Yes. Vinssi Pages publishes a static file or folder and does not need a plan. An app deployed from GitHub does need a plan.
